Happy 2nd Birthday For Whom the Gear Turns!
Yowza! I have officially been bringing you the skinny on all things Steampunk for two years, and I can attest to the old adage that time sure flies when you’re having fun. During the past 24 months I have published around 400 articles, gained over 2,000 followers, been visited by around 25,000 people who viewed the site nearly 70,000 times. These numbers have surpassed all of the goals I set at the beginning of last year and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much to my readers for your support, comments and sharing over various platforms. To celebrate the site’s first birthday I gave you a gallery of Steampunk cakes. This year, I want to say thanks with some eye-candy in the form of Steampunk presents.
As much fun as it is to bask in success, this also means it is time to start thinking about year three. Here are a few things you can look forward to between now and next Halloween:
۞ The final installments of the How to Punk Your Steam series
۞ The continuation of other series such as Hats Off, Memepunk, and Booze, Glorious Booze!
۞ Live tweeting and a behind-the-scenes look into the International Steampunk Symposium
۞ More Steampunk-inspired artwork by yours truly
۞ Steampunk Sourcebook articles on steam-era transportation such as submarines, locomotives, and bicycles
۞ An expansion of the Tips for Makers series
I am happy to do guest posts, exchange books for honest reviews, and get the word out about projects being done by my readers, so don’t hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or find me on Twitter, @gearturns.
